Beyond ringtones: mobile phones that play music
Reviews Many phones use proprietary connectors rather than a standard 3.5mm jack. Now that it's almost impossible to buy a mobile phone without a built-in camera, manufacturers are looking for the next big thing.

More than an organiser: multimedia handhelds
Reviews We've moved on since then, though, and in the modern world of iPods and camera phones, PDAs want to make your life fun. Early PDAs were glorified diaries cum address books, hence the PDA moniker (for Personal Digital Assistant).

Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Music Edition watch review
Reviews We had the Music Edition, which is supplied with a black rubberised strap and has orange flashes to match the company's Walkman range of phones. A quick check of the manual found that this function doesn't work on all phones.

T-Mobile MDA Vario II review
Reviews This is also one of two features (the other being the HSDPA support) that make the MDA Vario II one of the best smart phones on the market, if you are into mobile data. T-Mobile's MDA Vario II is similar to the HTC TyTN that we reviewed back in July.

T-Mobile MDA Vario review
Reviews This plugs into a slot at the top end of the handset -- which is a better arrangement than some mobile phones that require you to remove the battery before inserting a memory card. Following in the footsteps of the O2 XDA Mini S and i-mate JAM, T...

T-Mobile MDA Compact III review
Reviews No taller than many candybar phones (108mm), it's 58mm wide and 16mm thick, and should feel comfortable in all but the smallest of hands. T-Mobile's MDA Compact III is the first handheld with a built-in GPS antenna to be announced by a network...

T-Mobile Ameo review
Reviews The 3-megapixel camera isn't as good as those on Sony's Cyber-shot phones or most of Nokia's N-series handsets, but it delivers detailed, cartoon-bright stills in a range of conditions, even low light.

Reviews This is one of the first HTC-branded phones, and is the first Windows Mobile device with HSDPA (Super 3G) connectivity. Weaknesses Our main problem with Windows Mobile devices is that they are less straightforward to use than other mobile phones.

JayBird JB-200 review
Reviews The JayBird JB-200s clock in at £79 and they should work with any Bluetooth-enabled audio device, including mobile phones, MP3 players and PCs. As snug as they are, they're not the most comfortable 'phones we've ever worn.

analogue
Reviews Analogue mobile phones use an analogue signalling method to convey information. The sound quality of these mobile phones is not as sharp as that of digital phones, but service coverage is currently broader.

Do I need wireless connectivity?
Reviews This short-range radio frequency (RF) technology operates on a 2.4GHz spectrum and allows PDAs to communicate with other Bluetooth-enabled gadgets such as many mobile phones; you can dial numbers straight from your handheld's contact list or use...

Orange SPV M3100 review
Reviews However, it's not as slim or small as other mobile phones. Finally, the M3100 might cause problems if you're working for (or visiting) a company that doesn't allow camera phones in the building. T-Mobile and Vodafone have own-brand versions and now...
