Motorola Rokr E8 review
Reviews Sony Ericsson's Walkman handsets may be something of a household name when it comes to music phones, but as they consistently lack standard headphone sockets or support for common music file formats, it shouldn't be too difficult for another...

Etymotic ER-6i Isolator review
Reviews We're huge fans of the company's ER-4P headphone set, but it retails for a whopping £170. Bass response is excellent -- deep and well defined -- for an earbud-type headphone. The name Etymotic means 'true to the ear' and is pronounced 'et-im-oh-tik'.

Apple iPod (60GB, video) review
Reviews A few of you will notice subtler differences, such as the absence of the smart headphone jack, a smaller Click Wheel and the iPod's superflat face. The headphone jack has moved to the far right, and the smart jack, which was used by a host of...

Sony PSP Headset with Remote Control review
Reviews PSP-compatible headphone-and-microphone combination. The left earpiece is somewhat cluttered, with the headphone jack, the connecting right earpiece wire and the microphone all protruding from it. Headphone sound quality was good, performing...

Toshiba SD-P1600 review
Reviews Two headphone sockets mean you can share the display with a friend in a car, or even a complete stranger on a train. The previous model, the SD-P1400, was our travel companion of choice, offering features such as two headphone sockets, DTS output...

Arcam DiVA DT-91 review
Reviews You'll need an existing amplifier and speaker set to plug the DT-91 into because, unlike radios like the PURE Digital DRX-702ES, this Arcam does not have a built-in headphone jack. Listening without a headphone pre-amp or hi-fi amplifier is not...

BenQ Joybee 102R (128MB) review
Reviews Because of this design decision, the Joybee 102R's tiny headphone jack is designed to work only with the earbuds shipped with the product. The included USB cable plugs into the headphone jack, and the unit supports USB 2.0, but tunes transferred...

Sony CMT-GPX9DAB review
Reviews There is a headphone socket underneath the CD slot, near the bottom left-hand corner. If you want to record radio programmes or anything from a CD, you have to either use the tape deck or take a line out of the headphone socket, which we found...

Shure SE530 noise-isolating headphones review
Reviews Not only that, but they also come with a headphone cable that splits in half, giving you just 0.5m of lead to tangle instead of over 1m in length. You're essentially required to put them in upside-down, then loop the headphone cable over the back...

Mcody M20 review
Reviews The only downside to this slender design is that the player is permanently weighed down to one side by the headphone cable. Also, using the supplied cable, it's possible to record CD-quality audio directly to the player's memory from any source...

Creative Aurvana Live headphones review
Reviews Not only is the headphone cable coated in the same seemingly tangle-proof material we saw in the £130 Denon C700 earphones, it's also oxygen-free (good for sound quality) and its 3.5mm connection is gold-plated (also good).

LG Flatron L245WP review
Reviews The screen has an integrated USB hub that provides two USB ports on the left, along with a headphone jack so you don't have to rely on a headphone extension cable trailing to your desktop PC. This LG display is aimed at those who want more desktop...

Dolphin DAP (1GB) review
Reviews One side features a recessed, 2.5mm headphone jack that has some ridging along the opening that allows you to screw in the included headphones for a watertight fit. However, we're not so thrilled with the non-standard headphone jack as it means...

Olympus M:robe 500i (20GB) review

What else do I need?
Reviews Here's an example of the over-the-ear style of headphone (in this case, the inexpensive yet noise-canceling RCA HPNC300). As far as cassette adaptors go, they work with anything that has a mini headphone jack, so there are no compatibility issues.
