Acer TravelMate 3012WTMi review
Reviews Even with the heavier six-cell battery in place, the TravelMate 3012WTMi should not be a burden to carry, but its chassis does not provide room for an optical drive. Usefully for mobile professionals, the system comes with two battery packs -- one...

Acer TravelMate 3022WTMi review
Reviews Like its conventionally liveried stablemate, the 3022WTMi weighs 1.5kg (with the standard 3-cell battery and minus the external optical drive) and measures 298mm wide by 210mm deep by 25-32mm high. With the bigger 6-cell battery, the system weighs...

Nokia 5140 review
Reviews But with its 5140 cell phone, Nokia might have added another item to the mix. While those elements may appeal to fitness fanatics and the outdoorsy set, the phone is bulky (107 by 47 by 24mm; 101g), and it won't win any design awards.

Panasonic SDR-SW20 review
Reviews The battery is closer to a compact camera than the usual chunky camcorder cell, although this does mean that higher-capacity power packs cannot be swapped out with the bundled battery.Features Anyone who's ever dropped their mobile phone in their...

Nokia 8800 review
Reviews Battery life seemed average, though we were able to get by without needing to carry the spare cell with us. It's only when you've extended the phone that you can see the camera lens, which sits on the upper back of the casing.

Nokia N78 review
Reviews Navigating around town is made easy using the N78's A-GPS; it picks up satellites very quickly using a combination of cell and satellite data. Can Nokia repeat the same success with the Nokia N78 in today's feverish smart phone market?

Samsung Q70 review
Reviews Its footprint is slightly larger than an A4 sheet of paper, it's not particularly thin and it weights in at the 2kg mark with the large six-cell battery attached. The Q70 is supplied with a large six-cell battery that sticks out the back by about...

Nintendo DS review
Reviews In Metroid as well as in PictoChat, a small cell phone-like signal indicator tells you what kind of connection you're getting. When Nintendo announced the DS handheld to mixed reviews in January 2004, all we knew was that it had two screens.

Ultra-portable laptops
Reviews An internal power cell keeps the laptop running while you swap batteries, so you can keep working without losing your data. Keep an eye out for laptops that also incorporate Bluetooth -- these will let you synchronise data on your mobile phone or...

rockdirect Hardbook review
Reviews The six-cell battery on the Hardbook is also easy to remove. For more remote locations where there may not be dedicated Internet access, the laptop includes a standard 56k modem with generic phone connector.

Dell Latitude XT review
Reviews XT weighs 1.61kg with the 4-cell battery in place, which isn't uncomfortably heavy for moderate periods of tablet-style usage, with the laptop held in the crook of an arm. This is disappointing: the 6-cell primary battery or a second battery may be...

Dell Latitude E4200 preview
Reviews It's not as dinky and huggable as a netbook, but its chassis measures a petite 291mm by 204mm by 20mm and has a starting weight of just 1Kg with the 4-cell battery. This means it'll charge your USB devices -- a mobile phone, for example.over USB...

Samsung i320 review
Reviews This makes for a somewhat short battery life as we report below, but Samsung provides a second cell and a charger so at least you can prepare a fully charged spare battery to pop into the slot when needed.

Samsung R410 review
Reviews Even an Eee PC 901 has a 6,600mAH power cell. The Samsung R410 -- not to be confused with the r410 mobile phone -- is a budget all-round laptop with a 14.1-inch display. More importantly, however, it's dirt cheap at around £499.
