Sony XDR-S20 review
Reviews The tuning dial on the S20 is a fruitless effort to reinvent the wheel -- the radio signal may be digital now, but this is no reason to abandon the familiar, and effective, traditional tuning dial. In practise signal strength may vary, but you can...

Philips DVDR5500 review
Reviews The Freeview tuner produced a good signal from our aerial and the onscreen programming guide was easy to use and made setting up recordings a cinch. The recording quality in these modes can't be faulted and at the two higher settings you can't...

Philips DA1000 review
Reviews The top is reserved for volume, battery life, time, equaliser settings and signal, while the lower lines show the station name and whatever info you've chosen to view. The results were impressive, with the signal quality rarely straying from...

PURE Digital Chronos II review
Reviews There are no messy icons and nothing cluttering the screen, though information about such things as signal strength can be accessed using the 'Info' button, if required. WeaknessesEvery DAB radio relies on decent signal to perform well.

Sony RDR-HX510 review
Reviews There are RGB Scart inputs and outputs, so you can record and transmit a high-quality signal. The box failed to find the time automatically (possibly because of a weak TV signal) so we had to enter it manually.

Route 66 Chicago 8000 review
Reviews More impressively was its signal acquisition time which was extremely quick -- primarily thanks to the SiRF Star III receiver. It features an excellent search facility which is backed up by an equally impressive signal acquisition time.

Humax Foxsat-HD (freesat) review
Reviews The latter are linked to a manual switch that lets you change between outputting a standard RGB signal and a full component signal for HD. This quality is to be expected from a HD signal, but some of the other channels, like True Movies, are...

PURE Digital Move review
Reviews A large telescopic aerial aids the reception of the humble FM signal, too. If you're ever in an area without DAB signal coverage, or if the signal is simply too weak, you can switch the system to FM mode.

Dell W2600 review
Reviews Two sets of progressive scan compatible inputs allow you to send a beautifully smooth signal to the TV from a compatible DVD player or games console (both of which are below £100 now). The torture test for any LCD is giving it a plain old analogue...

Garmin nuvi 250W review
Reviews While the nuvi is running the latest SiRFstar III GPS chipset, it has real trouble in marginal signal areas: through windows at home, under trees, or in urban canyons. Having said that, once it has locked on (typically after about three minutes...

Sagem PVR 7280T review
Reviews The Scart output carries an audio signal, but if you have a home cinema system you'll want to use the optical audio output to retain digital clarity. The Sagem is also very good at catching a decent picture from a poor-strength signal -- our office...

Onkyo T-4555 review

TVonics MFR-300 review
Reviews We love the fact that the box can output a widescreen signal; this is a great benefit to the people who have older, widescreen CRTs with no digital tuner. Our TV was able to pick up its signal with no problems at all.
