Fujifilm Finepix Z100fd review
Reviews The 8-megapixel Fujifilm FinePix Z100fd is a stylish point-and-shoot, available for a reasonable £150. As the camera is so squarely aimed at the point-and-shoot style market, this isn't too big of a criticism.

pixel
Reviews A single point on a computer display. In a LCD monitor, each point in the display grid constitutes a pixel. In a CRT monitor, each pixel is a blend of red, green and blue phosphor dots that are activated by electron guns.

Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z55 review
Reviews At some point, you have to figure that the dominant digital photography trends of smaller cameras, bigger LCD screens, and more megapixels will reach a critical point, and we'll be left with some sort of tiny 12-megapixel monocle.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 review
Reviews A small box appears and that fixed point is tracked around the frame as camera or subject moves. It's a 10.1-megapixel point-and-shoot with knobs on, plus features such as a touchscreen, wide-angle lens and HD video rammed into its blocky frame.

Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd review
Reviews The Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd is a fairly basic 7.2-megapixel point-and-shoot aimed squarely at the youth market. The Z10fd's is a basic budget point-and-shoot. Colour was, appropriately enough, the high point.

Canon PowerShot A580 review
Reviews The Canon PowerShot A580 is a friendly 8-megapixel point-and-shoot camera. Additionally, a 9-point TTL autofocus also uses face detection to focus on and set exposure for faces spotted in the frame. It has a £100 price tag, cheerful styling and...

Casio Exilim Pro EX-FH20 review
Reviews The Casio Exilim Pro EX-FH20 is a 9-megapixel superzoom that doesn't hang about: its selling point is its blisteringly fast speed. The FH20's biggest selling point is its speed. But after its even faster predecessor -- the record-breaking 1,200fps...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W90 review
Reviews That's slower than we like to see, even for a budget point-and-shoot. This £140, 8-megapixel point-and-shoot camera offers a higher resolution than its predecessor, the Cyber-shot DSC-W80, but otherwise doesn't change much of anything.

Canon Digital IXUS 40 review
Reviews Generally stellar performance figures, great battery life, and an ultracompact design will score points for the Canon Digital IXUS 40 with the point-and-shoot crowd, but its lack of manual controls, limited selection of scene modes, and anaemic...

Canon Digital IXUS 700 review
Reviews DesignAs far as we're concerned, this should be the way point-and-shoot cameras look and feel for the foreseeable future. It has an exterior design that combines form and function more elegantly than any point-and-shoot we've ever tested.

BenQ DC E1000 review
Reviews BenQ will probably never be the first name to spring to mind when it comes to cameras, but it has been quietly churning out straightforward point-and-shoot compacts for a while now. ConclusionWe don't want to damn the BenQ DC E1000 with faint...

Fujifilm FinePix A900 review
Reviews The camera can shoot video, but only at QVGA -- 320x240 pixels -- resolution compared to the VGA -- 640x480 pixels -- movie modes most point-and-shoot cameras sport. On the surface it seems like an ordinary budget point-and-shoot camera, but...

Casio Exilim EX-Z19 review
Reviews The Exilim EX-Z19 won't win any prizes for innovation, but it is designed to win friends as an affordable point-and-shoot. In decent lighting the Z19 is a perfectly capable little point-and-shoot, focusing quickly and accurately.

LG 42PC1D review
Reviews The remote control is the low point in terms of design. The main point of interest is the freshly developed Clear Filter, which sees the heavy glass panel used by most plasmas replaced by a thin veneer of plastic.
