Dell Inspiron Mini 9 review
Reviews We've known for some time that Dell was working on a netbook-style laptop -- the same kind of small, low-power, inexpensive system made popular by Asus and the Eee PC line. And even though there are not many surprises in the £299 Inspiron Mini 9...

Asus N50V preview
Reviews The N50V is a Centrino 2 laptop with a solid core specification. The G2P gaming laptop was hideous, the V1J was meh and the A7Tc? With this, you'll be able to watch high-definition movies on the laptop, or on a large, external display.

Sony Vaio VGN-AR11S review
Reviews Sony's Vaio VGN-AR11S is the first laptop to use an integrated Blu-ray drive. It's also the first laptop we've seen that uses a 1080i-capable display with HDCP decoding capability, giving it full high-definition readiness.

Lenovo ThinkPad T61p review
Reviews CNET.co.uk is dedicated to the average consumer, so it's not often you'll find a purely business-focused laptop on these hallowed pages. But when a laptop is too good to ignore, we'll turn a blind eye to the fact that it's designed for stuffy...

Sony VAIO VGN-TX2XP/L review
Reviews It is just 272.4mm wide by 195mm deep, and is just over 28mm thin, so when you slip it into its accompanying leather carry-case, it looks as if you're carrying a small Filofax rather than a state of the art laptop.

Asus Eee Box review
Reviews Asus has performed a minor miracle in the laptop market with its Eee PC, so it stands to reason that it would try the same trick in the desktop arena. There's also an AC power inlet -- the power adaptor is of the external laptop brick variety.

HP Compaq 2710p review
Reviews When Hewlett Packard restructured its laptop range earlier this year it came up with three groupings. So far, we have reviewed one laptop from the Performance range (the 8710p). Even when it's closed, this laptop has a certain elegance thanks to...

Apple MacBook Pro (1.83GHz) review
Reviews Apple's first new laptop since the company switched to Intel processors, the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro features a Centrino Core Duo processor and, in doing so, ushers in a new era of Apple computing. The MacBook Pro's 15.4-inch widescreen display...

Dell Studio 17 review
Reviews Okay, you want a Dell laptop. We'll forgive it for being large -- it's a 17-inch laptop, after all. The Studio 17 is being marketed as an 'HD' laptop. Battery life isn't great -- just 2 hours, 20 minutes in our BatteryEater reader test, but then...

Alienware Aurora mALX review
Reviews The Aurora mALX is arguably the most audacious gaming laptop in Alienware's line-up. Not only is it airbrushed to give it a 'gamer's' aesthetic, but it's also the first laptop to use 1GB of dedicated graphics memory -- giving it arguably the...

Eee PC 1000 review
Reviews The wait is finally over for the Eee PC 1000, a laptop that promises to slay all that enters into the netbook arena. The Eee PC 1000 is the largest mini laptop we've come across. It's no longer a 'netbook', in our opinion, but is more like an...

Acer Aspire 9802WKMi review
Reviews The Acer Aspire 9802WKMi (along with its higher-spec sibling, the 9804WKMi -- together, the 9800 series) is the second 20-inch laptop to reach the UK. This design gives the laptop an inherent instability when sat upright, as the screen could cause...

Dell XPS M2010 review
Reviews When Dell unveiled the XPS M2010 laptop concept at CES 2006, few expected it to reach the retail market. The 20-inch laptop was more audacious than anything we'd seen previously and the general consensus was that its enormous size made it too much...
