LG Flatron L245WP review
Reviews The screen has an integrated USB hub that provides two USB ports on the left, along with a headphone jack so you don't have to rely on a headphone extension cable trailing to your desktop PC. This LG display is aimed at those who want more desktop...

Olympus M:robe 500i (20GB) review
Reviews The Home button, located in the top-left corner, opens a drop-down menu that takes you to the Home page or to any of the two other categories, and in this case, the Headphone icon in the top-right corner lets you search for and play music by...

Dolphin DAP (1GB) review
Reviews One side features a recessed, 2.5mm headphone jack that has some ridging along the opening that allows you to screw in the included headphones for a watertight fit. However, we're not so thrilled with the non-standard headphone jack as it means...

What else do I need?
Reviews Here's an example of the over-the-ear style of headphone (in this case, the inexpensive yet noise-canceling RCA HPNC300). As far as cassette adaptors go, they work with anything that has a mini headphone jack, so there are no compatibility issues.

JVC HA-NC250 noise-cancelling headphones review
Reviews As most people will make use of these 'phones while travelling, JVC has also included a dual plug adaptor, so you can connect them to the headphone sockets commonly found on planes. There's also a 1/4-inch adaptor plug for use with hi-fi's that...

Vosonic VP8360 review
Reviews These are perfectly positioned for use when the player is docked or held, but it's difficult to get the player in a trouser pocket without bending the bottom of the headphone cable to an unacceptable degree.

Sony Ericsson W760i review
Reviews What isn't useful is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone socket, immediately nulifying any chance of us recommending this handset as a suitable replacement to a dedicated MP3 player. Even if you're not bothered about Walkman features, you'd be daft not...

Sony Ericsson W902 Walkman review
Reviews The W902 lost most marks for its lack of a standard headphone socket, though. Sony Ericsson has, once again, used its proprietary USB-cum-headphone socket, meaning you'll need to use a haggard bundled adaptor if you want to plug in your own...

Apple iPod touch (2nd gen) review
Reviews Both the first- and second-generation iPod touch share the same dimensions (104mm by 62mm by 11mm), same glass-covered 89mm (3.5-inch) screen and same arrangement of headphone jack, dock connector, sleep button and home button.

Tangent Quattro MKII review
Reviews Why is the headphone socket around the back? Around the back are Ethernet, line-in, line-out and headphone sockets. Despite the headphone-related oversight, the Quattro's feature list impresses. A decent tabletop Internet radio, however, will give...

Nokia 6120 Classic review
Reviews We're slightly confused about the 2.5mm headphone jack, as most good headphones come with 3.5mm pins, but you can buy an adaptor. On the bottom, gone is the annoying proprietary Nokia Pop-Port and in its place is a standard mini-USB port so you can...

Logitech Squeezebox Boom review
Reviews Our only niggle is that having the headphone socket tucked so far away requires you pick up and spin around the Boom to jack in your cans. Connectivity wise, twin Wi-Fi antennae are hidden inside the system, and an Ethernet port sits around the...

iRiver Spinn review
Reviews The location of the headphone socket also makes it impossible to let the Spinn stand unaided for hands-free video playback. A 3.5mm headphone socket sits underneath the player, directly opposite the scroll wheel.
