Archos 604 review
Reviews Still, there's much this device can do out of the box. The only out of the box recording you can do here is with the built-in microphone. It's a lot cheaper -- £270 rather than £340 -- but the price reduction comes at the cost of a few potentially...

Pioneer PDP 436SXE review
Reviews But, surprisingly, this is the company's first screen to integrate all features within a single 'one-body' unit, without an accompanying media box. Herein lies the problem -- if you own both a set top box and DVD player with HDMI you'll be forced...

Logitech Squeezebox Duet review
Reviews Logitech's beautifully packaged Squeezebox system comprises three things: a small black box -- the Squeezebox -- that connects to your hi-fi, a wireless remote control and a small piece of software that sits on your computer.

Key features and connectivity options
Reviews What it isn't: The problem is, many people use external tuners such as a Freeview or satellite box to change channels. Usually, they work with a cable or satellite box, and many can also command DVD players, VCRs or even A/V receivers.

Roth Music Cocoon MC4 review
Reviews StrengthsDigital music has brought with it some fantastic benefits, not least of which is the ability to carry around thousands of tunes in a box smaller than a pack of fags. In the box, you only get three inserts for holding your iPod in the dock.

Philips HTS9800W review
Reviews The main unit is accompanied by a separate connector box and a wireless receiver with a 6.1-speaker system that includes an additional centre-rear channel. In turn, the connector box is linked to an attractive active subwoofer that carries all...

Sagem PVR6280T review
Reviews DesignThe box itself is a strange shape, like a large doorstop. Connectivity from Sagem's box is good, but like a DVD player, it's very simple. The box is fully supportive of the seven-day EPG, so if you press the Red button in this menu you can...

iRiver H10 (20GB) review
Reviews Plus, it's compatible with Janus -- it's PlaysForSure enabled -- out of the box. It supports MP3, protected WMA (including subscription-based music), JPEG, and text files and is 100 per cent compatible with Windows Media Player 10.0 and its...

Dell Dimension 5100 preview
Reviews UpsideThe midtower Dell Dimension 5100 trades the Dimension 4700's tired black-and-gray case for a fashionable white-and-graphite-coloured box. And while Dell doesn't provide enough configuration flexibility to make the Dimension 5100 a lightning...

Sagem DVR 6400 T review
Reviews It's not especially pretty, but it responds to commands quickly, and there's no apparent lag between pressing a button and the box responding. When doing this, the box will only allow you to view the two channels you're recording, or something from...

Sony Ericsson K750i review
Reviews Out of the box, three are set up to start the messaging software, open your contacts and run the media player, with the fourth ready to be programmed by you. If all of these things matter to you, then you should consider it, because, with a real no...

Buffalo LinkTheater review
Reviews If you've got a regular old CRT and you want to use the box, you'll be forced to go with S-video -- not a completely unusable video standard, but certainly not up to the quality of RGB Scart. Apple Macintosh owners will be the first to spot the box...

Loewe Xelos A42 review
Reviews However the A42 is a break from tradition, finding the company less concerned with future upgrades and more about providing a fully featured TV out of the box. Only one of the Scarts is RGB, so you'll have to put up with poorer picture quality if...

LG HT902TB review
Reviews The LG has surprised us by creating what is, in effect, everything a film fan needs in one box. While it is a rather large box and the carry handles are quite painful to use, it's still nice that everything is packed into a reasonably small space.
