Sony XDR-S1 review
Reviews On each side of the text there’s plenty of room for icons to show when the features like Noise Reduction and Mega Bass are on, but noticeably there are no permanent graphics to show essentials like signal strength.

Beyerdynamic DTX 50 noise-isolating headphones review
Reviews As for sound quality, it's the bass reproduction that swipes the gold medal for the DXT 50s. We initially tested this pair with Yeah Yeah by Bodyrox and were immediately blown away by the bass performance, especially at higher volume levels.

Tannoy i30 review
Reviews A bass-reflex port doubles up as a handle at the rear, above line-in, USB and composite video-out sockets, and screw holes for a wall-mounting bracket (sold separately). Beneath them pumped a deep and beautifully reproduced double bass line, never...

Denon AH-C551 earphones review
Reviews Our performance test started with a particularly bass-heavy favourite, 'Yeah Yeah' by Bodyrox. The trippy distorted bass on Pendulum's 'Tarantula' was superbly driven by the C551s and vastly more impressive than Shure's SE110s.

Sennheiser PXC 300 review
Reviews The headphones employ Sennheiser's proprietary, spiral-embossed Duofol diaphragms and bass-tube technology for improved sound quality. They won't play as loud and produce more limited bass response, but the noise-cancelling abilities are identical.

Griffin Evolve review
Reviews Inside is a single woofer, so everything from booming bass to crystalline highs need to be concurrently conveyed by a single driver. Together this means sound quality's not amazing -- bass is a little weak and bright highs are nowhere to be seen...

Scandyna Podspeakers and dock review
Reviews Worse still, the speakers' attempt at producing bass resulted in a murky hum that leached value from the song. Glosoli sounded how it should -- crystal-clear bass shook the room while the Micropods filled it with atmosphere and the haunting...

Denon AH-C252 sound-isolating earphones review
Reviews Getting the right fit is essential for bass to be heard properly, but they also passively block out ambient noise, such as chattering on the commute, air conditioning systems and the sound of air rushing past windows in trains.

Sennheiser CX 300 review
Reviews Like all the in-ear phones we've tested, the Sennheiser CX 300 won't produce any bass at all unless its soft silicon ear tips form an airtight seal inside your ear canals. Firstly, the CX 300's bass went as deep as the ER-6i's, but the vocals and...

LG HT902TB review
Reviews There's a centre speaker, which is placed on or beneath your TV, and a subwoofer for those room-shaking bass effects. We were amazed at the deep bass the HT0902TB was able to produce. Impressively, everything seemed well balanced, and although the...

Shure E4c review
Reviews In order for the E4cs to achieve their full bass response, you need to push their earpieces into your ear canals, and since human ears come in all sizes, the E4cs come with a pair of disposable foam sleeves and an assortment of reusable flex...

Sony PFR-V1 headphones review
Reviews Each prong is hollow, allowing bass to escape from the speaker enclosure and out of a small opening at the prong's tip. Once you get used to the unusual feeling of wearing the PFR-V1s, you'll notice two things: firstly, the distinct lack of bass...

Philips SHE9850 sound-isolating earphones review
Reviews Generally, the particularly loud SHE9850s offer a decent, detailed sound with emphasis on upper bass, mids and the lower high-end. WeaknessesUnfortunately, we weren't blown away by their bass presence.

Gear4 BassStation review
Reviews For a system with "bass" in its name, this is a huge disappointment: the reflex port could've added deeper tones and added bass oomph. The BassStation, despite lacking the ability to output tumultuous bass lines, can vibrate floors at high volume.
