Digital Living I'm searching with a nephew for a song by an obsure Japanese band when Google freezes. Helping to launch this Web site has given me plenty of time to think about a simple question, one I look forward to trying to answer in this weekly column.

Do I need to pay more than £30 for earphones?

Digital Living Denon's AH-D5000 headphones are constructed from a Japanese wood and produce a sound quality you'd expect from a hi-fi system costing thousands of pounds. I've seen earphones cost from about £20 to £500.
