Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 review
Reviews For around £190, the top-of-the-range DSC-W300 gives you an amazing 13.6-megapixel sensor, a titanium-coated body, advanced face and smile detection, ISO 6,400 and 5fps shooting. Portrait shots get an added twist with Sony's latest face-detection...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T700 review
Reviews Like that camera, the T700 has a 10-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch Super HAD CCD sensor, wide 89mm touchscreen display, f3.5-f10 35-140mm-equivalent Carl Zeiss lens (though the zoom range drops from 5x to 4x), Super SteadyShot optical image stabilisation...

Kodak EasyShare M1063 review
Reviews Face-detection technology joins perfect touch technology, which is designed to capture greater detail in shadows and highlights, without losing clarity elsewhere. Face detection does the job when subjects are looking straight at you, but struggles...

HP TouchSmart IQ500 review
Reviews That's not a good thing if you're using the IQ500 in a room with sunlight streaming in, as you won't be able to see anything on the screen but your own face. Blimey, the original TouchSmart IQ770 was ugly, wasn't it?

Kodak EasyShare M1073 IS review
Reviews Other features include face detection and the option to combine up to three shots into one with panorama stitch mode. We weren't too impressed with the face-detection system, which struggled in all but the best lighting and even then was unsure...

Nikon Coolpix S52c review
Reviews There are dedicated buttons on the top for face detection and email. The smooth face and absence of anything for the thumb to find purchase on at the back mean that one-handed shooting can be a slippery affair.

Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd review
Reviews The face-detection system can find up to six faces at a time. Face detection is also used to spot eyes and correct red-eye from every face in the frame, if necessary. It will then stay locked on to track a face around the frame.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50 review
Reviews Even in fully automatic mode, you can adjust face detection, red-eye reduction and scene recognition. A 1/2.3-inch CCD and Bionz processor handle the thinking, while features include face detection with high-speed subject tracking, an adjustable...

Toshiba SD-P91S review
Reviews This is a great feature if you have a lot of video you want to watch and can't face burning it all to DVD. Long journeys aren't fun, especially if you're a parent. Fortunately, portable DVD players offer some respite for all involved.

Fujifilm FinePix S8100fd review
Reviews Optical image stabilisation and face detection are included and it supports xD cards as well as SD and SDHC. Face detection is also quick and capable, tracking subjects around the frame and dealing well with profiles.

iRiver Volcano T7 review
Reviews Most controls reside on the face of the player beside the screen. From the iPod shuffle and Sony E Series to the SanDisk Sansa Express and Creative Zen Stone Plus, low-cost, easy-to-use MP3 players enjoy a lot of attention, often as gym-friendly...

Samsung NV24HD review
Reviews Optical image stabilisation and face detection -- which can find, focus and expose for up to nine faces -- are included. Samsung's NV series is known for its solid build quality and unconventional smart touch interface.

Philips SA2820 review
Reviews Each edge of this square-shaped face acts as a navigational button à la iRiver Clix -- a questionable move, since the player picks up fingerprints like a forensics expert. With its tiny dot matrix OLED screen switched off, the SA2820's highly...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W170 review
Reviews Clever subject tracking follows a face as it moves around the frame, allowing you to recompose your images. Face detection handled this kind of portrait well and although the white balance is a little warm, we were still pleased with this lower...

Samsung HT-X715 review
Reviews Let's face it: the people who go to movies now are brash, talk constantly to each other or are on their mobile phones, and generally make the whole experience an expensive waste of time. Increasingly, there are fewer reasons to go to the cinema.
