Good: Good pic. quality. Compact size.

Bad: Battery lets camera down. Not enough stamina.

Comment: Having had a number of Panasonic cameras inc. the FZ150, I have found the TZ30 to be
amazing. I wanted something I could put in my pocket but would produce good stills and
Video. The TZ30 does the job.
Ok, the AF is a bit slow but you soon adjust to it. Touch screen is great. Needs better battery.
I miss the free-angle LCD more than anything. Maybe future models will have one.

Good: Vast telephoto, compact (relatively)size, style

Bad: Who needs GPS in a camera? photos almost always seem underexposed in 'i' setting.

Comment: I already had a TZ8. I'd not bought the TZ10 as it had GPS. I always have the GPS switched off and never use video, which I could also do without. I really bought it to use WITH the TZ8 when my Pentax I-10 kept producing photos that looked like they had been taken through a jelly! The TZ30 is great but I am fearful of what Panasonic may bring out next. Sadly Panasonic has a customer service that makes Ryannair look good! I waited to buy mine until the price went to £200 and then a surprise £35 cashback offer made this machine irresistible. I initially heard a 'grinding' noise when switching it on. Amazon were very helpful but could not provide an answer. This meant I had to visit retailers to test several, which all had the same noise, so I then assumed it was normal. Overall, this is a great camera for those wanting a little more than point and shoot, although the TZ30 does this well too. Photos are crisp and certainly enlarge well up to at least A4 size. If you want a great camera look no further, but if you value customer service, look elsewhere.

Good: Zoom, Built quality, Video, GPS

Bad: Image quality at low lights

Comment: HI,
I just bought this camera and compared it with few other from Canon and Sony. The price point for this camera makes it a decent buy. The zoom is great, GPS effective, built quality good and a nice design. However the camera suffers at taking photos. The image quality is good at bright lighting conditions but as the light fades (night, dark rooms etc.) the image quality decrease. There is a also a lot of noise visible in dark conditions, especially at ISO higher than 400. The battery tends to drain quickly too. Hence do compare the camera with the competition before purchasing this one!!

Comment: The green GPS light keeps flashing all night even when the camera is switched off. Do you really expect me to go into the setup menue everytime I switch it on /off to deal with Gps settings?

Good: Can only be better than TZ20

Comment: Looks excellent hope build quality is as reported, but I'll wait for price to drop.

Good: The lens, the coulour balance, the video qualtiy, appealing design

Bad: The flash ? The battery life ?

Comment: I own a TZ7 which is a great piece of kit but is quite weak on battery life and the flash is woefully underpowered. Although the latter is somewhat compensated by a great low light sensitivity, there are some occasions when you need a bit balanced flash power, particularly in night/party shots.

About the battery life, my old ixus can do a full week's holiday with moderate/high use. The TZ7 can do a weekend.

If the TZ30 markedly improves on that then it's a contender !

I want it
