
Just a week before Macworld, Apple has unveiled a Mac Pro with eight processor cores and a new system architecture. Apple said its two Intel 45-nanometre Quad-Core Xeon processors running up to 3.2GHz will double the power of its predecessor.
The new Mac will possess a 1600MHz front-side bus and up to 32GB of 800MHz memory. It comes with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card with 256MB of video memory.
The standard 8-core Mac Pro will cost $2,799 (£1,400).

The new Mac Pro will come with four internal hard drive bays that can each hold a 1TB Serial ATA hard drives for up to 4TB of internal storage.

The Mac Pro comes with a new PCI Express 2.0 graphics slot that can hold the latest video cards from ATI or Nvidia. It can deliver up to eight 30-inch displays.
