Ford kinetic Design
The new Mondeo looks smooth, sharp and stylish, sporting a redesigned grille and bumpers, chrome details and a sculpted bonnet. Energy-saving LED lighting can be seen inside and out, with crisp daytime running lights and interior illumination.
The interior boasts premium materials, such as a leather-trimmed steering wheel, handbrake and gearshift on all models. Clean, contemporary trim options include luxury fabrics, including Windsor leather seats.
Ultimate drivability
The new Mondeo is home to advanced ECOnetic technologies. Get ready for the new six-speed PowerShift transmission because not only does this deliver lightning-fast gear changes with no power loss, it also boosts fuel economy. Sport Mode lets you blast through gears with just a flick of the stick.
The new Mondeo has a suspension that is solidly engineered for handling, performance and safety. Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVDC) is an optional system that offers regular suspension, luxurious suspension or sports suspension, guaranteeing the best possible ride – in combination with the Ford Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) which is standard across the range. This gives superb traction control in all conditions, ensures that full braking force is available when you need it and even automatically flashes your hazard lights if you brake suddenly.
Safety sophistication
Safety has moved on a long way from basic crumple zone and airbags. The new Mondeo doesn't just protect you in the event of a crash, it helps you avoid accidents in the first place. A Lane Departure Warning delivers tactile and visual alerts if you wander out of a lane, while the advanced Blind Sport Information System notifies you of vehicles in your blind spot by flashing lamps on the wing mirrors.
The new Mondeo can also spot when you're nodding off at the wheel, spotting tell-tale signs in your driving and giving you a gentle reminder that it's time to take a break. It can even monitor the air quality outside and switch to recirculated air if you're stuck in a smoggy traffic jam.
Smart driving
Let the Ford Mondeo take care of mundane motoring matters while you concentrate on the road. Auto High Beam automatically switches the (optional) bi-xenon headlights to low beam if the car senses an oncoming vehicle, and then back again when the road is clear.
You'll have used cruise control, of course, but how about an Adjustable Speed Limiter? This clever system lets you easily set a maximum top speed and could help prevent you from exceeding the speed limit, - particularly handy in road-works where speed cameras are commonplace.
Eco Mode helps you save money and the environment. It calculates your mileage in real-time, depending on your speed, gear shifting and braking, and can deliver some useful tips on how to improve your numbers.
Comfort and control
Think attention to detail. Every component of the Ford Mondeo is built to last and comes with thoughtful details, such as one-touch power child locks (standard throughout the range) and a windscreen that includes an invisible layer of acoustic vinyl to reduce road noise.
The Ford Mondeo has an instrument cluster that includes a Touch-screen Navigation Plus system, which puts mapping, traffic and media directly at your fingertips, with real-time route guidance and trip information.
Put the new Mondeo in reverse and a rear view camera activates automatically, helping you slip easily into the tightest parking space. Entertainment is just a gesture away, too. Plug in your iPod, USB device, iPhone or other MP3 player and rock out to an eight-channel amp belting out 265 watts of rich, immersive surround sound.
